Classification
- Every box represents a junction where you must decide
where to go. If you have no choice at a junction, no instruction
need be given.
- The ball represents the car and the arrow represents
the direction you should take.
- Private, Unpaved, Grassy, or Gated Roads may not be shown
and are not to be used unless directed by the route sheet.
Any of the preceding may be indicated by a "?",
"X", "DE" or "NE". IS means
to “Ignore Sign”, IG means to “Ignore
Gate”.
- A Mileage in an instruction box means that you must travel
for the specified distance starting from the preceding junction
(not necessarily the preceding instruction), disregarding
all junctions encountered along the way. You must also stay
on the same class of road for the entire distance if possible.
(See I)
- Solid lines indicate paved roads; broken lines represent
unpaved roads. If the unpaved portion consists of grass,
instructions will additionally have the letters GR. (See
L,M,N)
- Pick-up points are Landmarks, which may be added to help
you stay on route. Observations are normally indicated by
the letter “Q“ and an observation number. The
answer will be found before the next instruction and not
necessarily at the junction.
